KSP releases names of father and son found dead in Carter County

Staff Report
Carter County Times

The Kentucky State Police have released the names of a father and son found dead just outside Olive Hill last week. Troopers reported that the two bodies, both badly decomposed upon discovery, have been identified as 71-year-old Ora Hamm, and his son, 45-year-old Earl Hamm.

The two were found in a trailer located along U.S. 60, just outside of town, on Tuesday, July 12.

The bodies were both sent to Frankfort for autopsies. After they were completed it was determined that at least one of the men died as a result of homicide – though it wasn’t revealed which man was killed in this way or what the instrument of this homicide was. The cause of death for the other man has not yet been determined, and the results of a toxicology test are still pending.

KSP has still not responded to requests for direct comment on the case, but are presumed to be continuing the investigation.
