Allen Dean Runyon

1946-2020

Mr. Allen Dean Runyon, age 73, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2020, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born November 23, 1946, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of the late Dean and Virginia Louise Dudley Runyon.

Allen was of the Wesleyan faith and he loved music, playing his guitar and singing, riding his motorcycle, taking Harley trips and spending time with his family, friends, and church family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great grandson, Brantley Lawson, and one sister, Sharon Lusher.

Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gladys Sloane Runyon; one son, Jason Allen Runyon (Kimberly) of Big Rock, Tennessee; two daughters, Norma Elizabeth Strong (Kenneth) of Salt Lick, Kentucky, and Deana Pinkerton (Craig) of Frenchburg, Kentucky; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Foy David Runyon (Kathy) of Huntington, West Virginia; and one sister, Nancy Coleman (Ben) of South Point, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Darrell Puckett and Brother Randy Binion officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent-Sloane Cemetery in Rowan County, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway U.S. 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Allen’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
