Caeley Ann McCoy, age 10, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, a 5th grader at Olive Hill Elementary, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in Lexington, Kentucky. Caeley battled AML Leukemia and lost the fight 3 weeks after being diagnosed.
She was born Friday, November 9, 2012, to John and Nicole Donaldson McCoy.
Caeley was born in Schweinfurt, Germany, which was something she was extremely proud of. She loved being an “Army Brat”. She started gymnastics at 17 months old and loved not only training at the gym, but flipping around anywhere she could. She loved fishing and golfing with her daddy, roller skating, archery, camping and almost anything outdoors. Caeley was a daddy’s girl down to her core but loved to snuggle with her Momma at night and loved to torment her older sister Alexandria, but was fiercely protective of her. She was extremely sassy and had no problem letting you know how she felt. She loved her dogs and always asked for more animals.
In addition to her parents, Caeley is survived by two sisters, Alexandria McCoy of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Lily Tallmon of Oregon; paternal grandparents, Johnnny McCoy and Karen Staab of Oregon; maternal grandmother, Rachelle Yost of California; Godparents, Nate and Steffannie Waring of Texas, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be held at a later date in Oregon with burial to follow in the family cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
