William Glennis “Billy” Lowe

1936-2023

William Glennis “Billy” Lowe, age 86, of State Highway 174, Olive Hill, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

He was born December 2, 1936, to the late Cecil Lowe and Dixie McDaniel Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Marshall Lowe in 2005; a daughter, Kennitha Gail Barnett; a grandson, James Noah Lowe; a sister, Ivetis Lowe Adkins; an infant sister; two step daughters, Geraldine Porter and Phyllis Skaggs; a step son-in-law, Walter Zane Daily; and a step grandson, Walter Allen Dailey.

Billy is survived by two daughters, Luglenda Sue McClain (Paul) of Morehead and Minnie Lowe Arnett (Marlin) of Sharpsburg; two sons, Glennis Ray “Butch” Lowe and William Shane Lowe, both of Morehead; two step daughters, Pauline Maddix (Wade) and Eugenia Dailey, both of Olive Hill; three step sons, Leonard Conn (Francis) and Calvin Conn (Jessie), all of Morehead, and Paul Conn (Mary) of Olive Hill; one brother, Dempsey Eugene “Gene” Lowe of Morehead; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Billy held many jobs during his working years including automotive factories in Michigan, a foreman at Tropicana in Florida. farmer and logger, and owned and operated a sawmill on Brown Ridge in Elliott County.

He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gardening, making candy, and cooking, especially his fried chicken. He will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating. Burial will follow McDaniel Cemetery in Elliott County.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
