Lady Raiders undefeated: Softball team now 5-0

The East Carter Lady Raiders are now 5-0 after victories against West Carter, Paris, Martin County, and Morgan County. While they’ve had to cancel two games against Betsy Layne due to the COVID policy, they’ve shutout opponents in their last three matches, going 12-0 against Martin County, 16-0 against Morgan County, and 20-0 against West Carter – their second victory over the Lady Comets after defeating them 20-4 in their first outing.

The victories against Paris and Martin County have been their longest games so far, going five innings before being called. They went three innings in their first outing against West Carter, three innings against Morgan County and four against West Carter in their second match up. 

In the Morgan County match Payton Rice pitched three innings, allowing one hit and no walks. Karsen Prichard went 3-3 with four RBIs, three runs scored, and three stolen bases. Rice was 2-2 with an RBI. Audrey Manning 1-1 with a run scored. Trina Porter was 1-2 with two RBIs, Lydia Combs 1-2 with two RBIs, Chloe Shelton 1-2 with two runs scored, Makaleigh McCarty 1-1 with two runs scored, and Sarah Cordle 1-1 with two RBIs, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. 

Against West Carter Payton has one run and 4 RBIs, Manning two runs and one RBI, Combs two runs and four RBIs, Prichard two runs and three RBIs, Tussey one run and one RBI, McCarty two runs and one RBI, Shelton two runs and one RBI, Sarah Cordle two runs, Porter one RBI, Adrianna Cordle one run, Thompson four runs, and Boggs one run.
