The following indictments were returned by the Grand Jury of the Carter Circuit Court on March 8, 2024. An indictment is not a determination of guilt or innocence. It is simply a charge that an offense has been committed and indicates that a case is pending on the charges listed. All defendants have the presumption of innocence until found guilty in a court of law.
Though it is a part of the public record, the Carter County Times does not make a habit of printing the names of minor children or the victims of alleged crimes, except under exceptional circumstances.
- Jeremy Arthur, 45, of Aurora, CO, on or about February 2, 2024, committed the offenses of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, by operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway while under the influence of drugs, a Class B Misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, when he possessed heroin, a schedule one narcotic, a Class D Felony; and reckless driving, by failing to operate his vehicle in a careful manner, with regard to the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles on the roadway, a violation.
- Eric Campbell, 54, of Grayson, on or about February 11, 2024, committed the offense of assault in the second degree, domestic violence, by intentionally striking the victim, and causing them to suffer serious physical injury, a Class C Felony.
- Adam Davis, 40, of Rush, on or about January 24, 2021 through February 21, 2021, committed the offense of theft by deception – cold checks over $1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00 by issuing or passing a check or similar sight order for the payment of money in the amount of $1,234.32, knowing that it would not be honored by the drawee, to obtain property or services from Ralph’s Food Fair with the account of another, with intent to deprive them thereof, a Class D Felony.
- Dylan Ingles, 39, of Grayson, on or about February 3, 2024, committed the offenses of possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, when he possessed methamphetamine, a schedule two narcotic, a Class D Felony; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, when he possessed heroin, a schedule one narcotic, a Class D Felony; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, drug unspecified, when he possessed a schedule one or schedule two narcotic, a Class D Felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.
- Nicole McDavid, 39, of Grayson, on or about February 3, 2024, committed the offenses of possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, drug unspecified, when she possessed a schedule one or scheduled two narcotic, a Class D Felony; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, when she possessed a carfentanil or fentanyl derivative, a Class D Felony; trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, two or more grams of methamphetamine, by knowingly and unlawfully trafficking in a schedule two narcotic, a Class C Felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.
