Ellis “Dave” Allen, age 92, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. Claire Healthcare Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He was a former resident of Elliott County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook for 5 years.

He was born Wednesday, January 13, 1932, in Morgan County, Kentucky a son of the late Kernie and Mary Keeton Allen.

Dave was a retired salesman, grocery store owner, farmer and fisherman. He was a devoted Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, Friend and Christian. Dave proudly served his county in the United States Army, serving as a corporal during the Korean War 1952 thru 1954.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Daisel Smith Allen; one brother, Emil Allen and one sister, Mae Harvey.

Dave is survived by one step-son, Tony (Beverly) Kiser of West Union, Ohio; one step-daughter, Tammy Kiser of Olive Hill, Kentucky; step-grandson, Jacob (Heather) Kiser of Winchester, Ohio; three step-grandsons, Cyrus Kiser, Brayden Hodge and Kellan Hodge all of Winchester, Ohio; three step-granddaughter, Everly Kiser, Hallie Hodge, Hannah Hodge all of Winchester, Ohio; one brother, Herky (Ruth) Allen of West Liberty, Kentucky; one sister, Alene Logan of Winchester, Kentucky, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services held will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Ed Jones and Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.

Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.

Jacob Kiser, Kenny Allen, Keith Allen, Roger Fannin, Scott Rawlings, Jeff Smith, Johnny Smith and Jeff Kiser will serve as pallbearers.

Worley Smith will be honored as a honorary pallbearer.

Globe Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the family of Ellis (Dave) Allen.
