Two men reportedly dead in domestic incident near Fultz

Kentucky State Police are investigating an incident involving the death of two men that occurred near the Fultz community, between Grayson and Aden, last Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

Trooper Shane Goodall, with the Kentucky State Police, issued a statement last Wednesday that read, “The Kentucky State Police are currently investigating a fatal incident involving family members. At this time, there are no outstanding suspects, and public safety is not compromised. Further updates on the investigation will be provided as information becomes available.”

While they could not provide the names of the people involved or any further information, the Carter County Sheriff’s Office did confirm that they were first on the scene, which they helped secure for state police. They referred all further questions to the Kentucky State Police.

Law enforcement also confirmed that at least one of the individuals involved had an emergency protection order/domestic violence order (EPO/DVO) against them.

Trooper Goodall said he could provide no further official information at this time.

But while no names have officially been released, the community has identified one of the deceased as 46-year-old Kris Hall.

Hall posted publicly to his social media account earlier on the day of the incident about his marital problems, and the DVO against him.

The other victim has been identified by family as Hall’s stepson, 21-year-old Shawn Maynard.

What led to the altercation between the two men is still a matter of speculation.

This is a developing story, and will be updated online as more information becomes available.
