KYTC to Host US 60 Public Meeting in Olive Hill Thursday, Dec. 7

Feedback needed for proposed roadway improvements

FLEMINGSBURG  – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers will host a public information meeting Thursday, Dec. 7, to gather feedback about proposed improvements to US 60 east of Olive Hill in Carter County.

The highway project includes proposed geometric improvements, widening, and safety fixes to 1.1 miles of US 60 between the reconstructed Rock Crusher Curve area and the I-64 interchange (Exit 161) at Pleasant Valley.

The open-house meeting will take place 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Carter County Career and Technical Center in Olive Hill, and will include informational handouts, maps of proposed changes, and survey forms. There will be a brief 5- to 10-minute project overview presentation tentatively scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

Anyone may drop in at any time during the open house to meet with highway engineers who will discuss the project and answer questions. Comment sheets will be made available, and written and oral statements about the proposed project can be made at the meeting or afterward until Jan. 7, 2024.
