FLEMINGSBURG – Highway crews will temporarily close part of KY 2 in Carter County for three days next week to make drainage repairs.
On Monday, July 8, crews will close KY 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. just east of Zornes Branch (milepoint 16.65) to dig through the highway and replace a drainage pipe underneath.
On Tuesday, July 9, crews will close KY 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. between KY 7 and Rock Springs Road (milepoint 15.5) for a pipe replacement.
On Wednesday, July 10, beginning at 8 a.m., KY 2 will be one lane at Carter City (milepoint 13.5, between Carter Road and Firehouse Lane) for a pipe replacement. The highway will be closed completely for a few hours in the afternoon to finish the work by 4 p.m.
Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
