Darrell Duane Price, age 64, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Friday, July 31, 1959, in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the late Oather Gayle and Loval Lois Weaver Price.
Darrell first of all loved going to church singing and playing his harmonica and mandolin for the Lord. He was so thankful for the mercy the Lord had on his life and the forgiveness the Lord had shown to him. Darrell worked so hard all of his life, and retired after 42 years of service at Ashland Oil. His work ethic was unmatched. He also, owned his own welding company, Price Fabrication, which he enjoyed not just welding for everyone, but, also creating many ornamental fencing and gate projects. Darrell loved going to Alabama where he and his friends would fish. He loved traveling and enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Sheri Savage Price; two sons, Eric (Brinda) Price of Morehead, Kentucky, Ross (Allison) Reed of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Tabby Price (Brad Fraley) of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Owen Stephens, Cooper Stephens, Kennedy Reed and Finn Reed; two brothers, Clifford “Tip” (Glenda) Price, David (Holly) Price all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Renee Price of Morehead, Kentucky, Gaylena (Mark) Cline of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Byron Hargett, Brother Steve Madden and Brother Clifford “Tip” Price officiating. Burial will follow in Bradley Cemetery on Dry Branch.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Dino Corsetti, Quenton Thomas, Duane Hughes, Pat Luken, Bart Wallace, Dean Manning, Donnie Oppenheimer and Nathan Parks will serve as pallbearers.
