Robbie Lee Stone

1947-2025

Robbie Stone, age 77 of Grayson Kentucky was born July 30th 1947 in Hitchins KY, the son of Jack & Genevieve Adkins Stone who both preceded him in death. He had 4 siblings, 3 of whom also preceded him in death: sister Judy Warneld, sister Pamela Johnson, brother Jack Stone, Jr, & “The Last Man Standing,” as she is known to the family, his remaining living sister Rosa Stone.

Robbie was of the Christian faith and no longer has to suffer–he passed through Heaven’s gates on February 11th 2025 at KDMC in Ashland, KY after battling an extended illness.

Rob retired as a foreman from Kentucky Electric Steel in 1989. He was also a building construction contractor for more than 50 years & erected many homes in the Grayson area. He took Pride in his work and enjoyed sipping coffee from thermos with a pack of cigarettes while driving through the neighborhoods he helped build.

He loved & is survived by his sister Rosa mentioned above, his two daughters, Alison (Art) Ratcliff & Robin (Bub) Messer, his former wife Joanie, as well as his grandchildren & great grandchildren. Robbie was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in The Vietnam War. He had been immobile for approximately the last 12 years, but did not let that break his spirit! He kept a great sense of humor, loved to play poker, & to make people laugh. One of his favorite phrases was, “You’ve got to know when to hold’em, & know when to fold’em!” He also said his daughter Robin wasn’t allowed to bet in poker or the family would go PLUMB broke!! He had 2 special caregivers, Wanda Richmond & Barbara Hall.
