Sally Ruth Richmond Butler, age 83, of Emerson, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayson, Kentucky.
She was born Friday, May 31, 1940, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Delbert and Josie Carpenter Richmond.
Sally enjoyed watching westerns, listening to music, drinking coffee and watching the birds with Sue and Alana, visits from her best friends, Janet Richmond, Myrtle Brown and Lynn Zornes, her grandchildren coming to give her perms and polishing her nails. She loved for everyone to come and share a meal with her and was always ready to visit with anyone who stopped in to see her, especially her children and grandchilden. Sally loved her family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Donald Vinson Butler; one granddaughter, Kasey Pollard; seven brothers, Herbert Richmond, Walter Richmond, Hobert Richmond, Bobby Richmond, Fred Richmond, Dewey Richmond and Carl Lee Richmond; two sisters, Maggie Butler and Dorothy Spence.
Sally is survived by three sons, Donald (Diane) Butler of Morehead, Kentucky, Ronald Butler (Sue Rivers) and Ricky Butler all of Emerson, Kentucky; two daughters, Loretta (James Ray) Easterling, Bonnie Butler (Clyde Logan) all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; granddaughter, Latoria Farley, whom she raised as her daughter; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Donald Butler and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery, in Lewis County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Tyler Butler, Landen Butler, Jason Easterling, Justin Easterling, Chris Butler and Nick Butler will serve as pallbearers.
Aaron Farley, Doyle Richmond, James Ray Easterling, Tyler Richmond, Shawn Butler, Coda Butler and Jimmie Easterling will serve as honorary pallbearers.
