Vivian Stamper, 84, of Grayson, KY, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at The Lantern at Morning Point in Russell, KY. She was born on August 27, 1940, in Macedonia, IA; the daughter of the late Walter and Verda Lembke Clayton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Stamper; a brother, Orlan Clayton; a sister, Barbara Barker; and a son-in-law, Steve Kuhner.
Vivian was a Christian and a local business owner, being part owner of Stamper Carpet Sales and having previously owned Silver Threads Fabric Shop in Grayson. Vivian has been very active in her community, serving as secretary of the Kentucky State Homemakers Association. She has made numerous quilts for Community Hospice and participated in the Quilts of Valor organization.
She is survived by a son, Terry (Nora) Stamper of Grayson, KY; a daughter, Debbie Kuhner of Grayson, KY; two sisters, Carol Higginbotham of Florence, KY, and Juanna Barnes of Anaheim, CA; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Heather, Jennifer, Erica, Emerly, Steven, and Elisha, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Everman Cemetery at Gregoryville.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
