Grayson Gallery & Art Center
The Grayson Gallery will present their monthly F!nal Fr!days Art Walk event with an opening reception, entertainment and refreshments on November 24 from 6 – 9 p.m. Artists have submitted nearly 50 pieces for this exhibit and represent over a dozen cities in the Tri-State area. Various mediums such as acrylic and watercolor painting, chainsaw carving, assemblage, photography, mixed-media and more are included in the display, which has a wide range of subject matter as well. Artists and the public are invited to this free event, the last art show of 2024, and to vote for their favorite piece for the People’s Choice Award. In addition, prizes will be awarded for GGAC Board Choice, the Pen Lady’s award or purchase, and the Brandon Click Memorial, which is chosen by the late artist’s family. Each winner will receive $50 and a blue ribbon during the Awards & Announcements portion of the evening, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
For several years, the Huntington Blues Society’s All Star Band & Guests have performed as the evening’s seasonal entertainment each November. As a “GGAC Partner”, The HBS will also take this opportunity to seek donations (as well as tips for musicians) to support their annual fundraiser and membership drive for their non-profit, 501c3 corporation. Some money raised will benefit winners of their 2023 Blues Competition. Musician Allen Talbott and the band Roosterphonic will represent our region at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Contact the HBS President Karen Combs via Facebook for more information on how donors may help and be sure to check out: https://blues.org/international-blues-challenge/.
Refreshments will be provided by Catering by Laura, with water and soft drinks included. The Grayson Gallery is a part of the Arts & Entertainment district of the Grayson Main Street program and will be a participating business in the statewide Kentucky Peppermint Trail.
