An Olive Hill man is in custody after being arrested following an investigation by the Kentucky State Police and Ashland Police Department into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials.
The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 14 reported on Thursday, March 30, that they had arrested 49-year-old David Edward Jordan, of Olive Hill, āon charges related to a child sexual abuse material investigation.ā
Jordan was located and interviewed before being arrested as part of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation, KSP said. The two departments began their investigation after they discovered Jordan sharing sexually explicit images online.
The investigation resulted in the executive of a search warrant as a residence in Olive Hill on the day of his arrest. Equipment believed to be used in the crimes was seized and KSP said it will be delivered to their forensic team for examination.
Jordan was booked into the Carter County Jail on Thursday on charges of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance of a minor under the age of 12 years.
The investigation into Jordan is still ongoing, under the direction of KSP Detective David Boarman.
