Kentucky State Police have made a second arrest in the 2015 ambush murder of Kelly Glover.
Police announced last Wednesday that 63-year-old Randell Nichols, of Tick Ridge Fork in Olive Hill, was arrested in connection with the murder. Nichols was arrested on an indictment warrant and charged with a first degree murder charge. He is currently lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Nichols arrest follows the arrest, in October, of 57-year-old Brian Flannery, also of Tick Ridge Fork, also on a charge of first degree murder.
While releases from the Kentucky State Police charge both men with first degree murder, their indictments provide more detailed information on their involvement.
Flannery’s indictment indicates that he is accused of pulling the trigger on the gun that took Glover’s life.
“(O)n or about Februrary 13, 2015,” the indictment reads, Flannery, “committed the offense of capital murder when, with the intent to cause the death of Kelly Glover, he caused the death of Kelly Glover by shooting him.”
Nichols indictment charges that during the same time period Nichols, “committed the offense of complicity to capital murder, by soliciting, commanding, or engaging in a conspiracy with another person to commit the offense; or aiding, counseling, or attempting to aid another person in the offense of capital murder of Kelly Glover.”
Indictments for the two men were issued on December 8, by the grand jury of the Elliott circuit court, in Elliott County, where the murders took place.
Detectives with the Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead, are continuing to investigate the murder and said more arrests are expected to follow.
