Safety Officer Lettie Marcum from the Hitchins Volunteer Fire Department successfully applied for a $5,000.00 grant through Marathon Pipeline Division’s Marathon Community Investment Program, which was subsequently awarded to the department. The funds were utilized to purchase a new Rope Rescue Kit, therebv enhancing the firefighters’capabilities in handling low-angle rescues within the area. This equipment will play a crucial role in incidents necessitating firefighters to navigate low hillside terrain.
