Mayor Troy Combs Announces Appointments to Grayson Tourism Commission

GRAYSON — Mayor Troy Combs has announced the appointment of Dianne Ferguson and Bob Thomas to serve as commissioners on the Grayson Tourism and Convention Commission, effective August 13, 2026. The appointments were confirmed by the Grayson City Council at a special meeting held on August 20, 2026.
Ferguson and Thomas are lifetime residents of the City of Grayson with strong history of community involvement and extensive business backgrounds.
Ferguson has been an integral part of downtown retail for decades, serving the tri-state area with formal wear and women’s clothing. She has given her time and talents to many local organizations involving our youth and serves on the Grayson Chamber Board of Directors. She is a mother and grandmother who expressed a desire to serve, and a continued commitment to making Grayson a great place to live.
Thomas has been a constant presence at Malone’s Funeral home, where he officially retired, but continues to work part-time. His career has allowed him to build strong relationships with families throughout Grayson and the surrounding area. Thomas has also been active in his church and community. He is an elder at Oak Grove Church of Christ, where he serves as a board member and treasurer. Bob is a proud father and grandfather, who wants to bring his business background to help steward our Commission.
“Bob and Dianne have both invested their time, talents and experience in the Grayson community, and I appreciate their willingness to continue to serve,” said Mayor Troy Combs. “Their knowledge of our community and experience in business will be valuable additions to the Grayson Tourism Commission.”
The Tourism and Convention Commission was created by the City of Grayson, as allowed by Kentucky law, to create opportunities with transient and restaurant tax revenue. The creation of the entity plays an important role in promoting Grayson as a destination for visitors while supporting local businesses, community events and opportunities that contribute to the city’s continued growth.
Mayor Combs said he looks forward to working with Thomas and Ferguson as they begin their service on the commission. They join existing members Jill Bond, Vivian Bailey, Charlie Baker, Shadow Skaggs, and Dustin Stewart.
