Paint the town purple

Staff Report
Carter County Times

The Relay For Life of Carter County Committee is inviting everyone to participate in a celebration to raise awareness of their fundraising goals and the three reasons they hold the Relay for Life:
To celebrate the lives of all survivors.
To remember loved ones and friends that we have lost to the dreaded disease of cancer.
To fight back, and help fund research to find a cure in our lifetime.
During the week of October 3–10 Relay for Life is planning to “Paint the Town Purple,” and they’re asking for the community’s help. Purple is the color for Relay for Life and for survivors. If individuals or businesses would like to participate, the group is asking you to “please put purple in your store windows or yards, and display purple bows or balloons.”
“We can make a difference in the lives of people with cancer by helping do what we can, where we are, with whatever we have,” Relay spokesperson Becky Walker noted.
The Grayson Relay for Life event will take place on Saturday, October 24, at Gregoryville Christian Church, in Grayson, with a survivor dinner held at 6 p.m. The organization noted they “would love to see you there.”
