Weekly arrest report: 6/30/21

The following individuals were arrested and booked into the Carter County Detention Center over the past week. This list includes local arrests only. It does not include federal inmates being housed at or transported through the detention center. 

  • Joseph Elam, 33, of Grayson, arrested by Grayson PD, on three counts of failure to appear, arrested and booked on June 22.Ā 
  • Eric Hall, 22, of Richmond, arrested by Olive Hill PD, on two counts of failure to appear, arrested and booked on June 23.Ā 
  • Zachary Mumford, 37, of Hancock, WV, arrested by Grayson PD, on charges of being a fugitive (warrant not required), arrested and booked on June 23.Ā 
  • Derek Shumate, 38, of Vanceburg, arrested by Boyd County Jail, on three warrants, arrested June 23, booked June 24.Ā 
  • Jarrod Kelly, 37, of Grayson, held for court by Judge Phillips and Carter County Circuit Court, arrested and booked on June 25.Ā 
  • Tommy Boggs, 49, of Grayson arrested by Kentucky State Police, on a charge of second degree burglary, arrested and booked on June 26.Ā 
  • Zachary Kinder, 26, of Grayson, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on a warrant for parole violation, arrested and booked on June 26.Ā 
  • James Burnett, 67, of Grayson, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on charges of fourth degree assault (domestic violence) no visible injury, first degree strangulation, intimidating a participant in the legal process, third degree terroristic threatening, arrested and booked on June 27.
  • Jason Cummings, 28, of Grayson, arrested by Grayson PD, on charges of theft by unlawful taking – $500 or more but under $10,000, first degree criminal mischief, public intoxication on a controlled substance excluding alcohol, arrested June 27, booked June 28.Ā 
  • Kenneth Mills, 30, of Grayson, arrested by Carter County Sheriff, on a charge of fourth degree assault (domestic violence) no visible injury, arrested and booked on June 28.Ā 
  • Nefferthia Johnson, 39, of Cincinnati, Ohio, arrested by Kentucky State Police, on charges of speeding ā€“ 19 mph over limit, failure to maintain required insurance, no registration receipt, operating on a suspended or revoked operatorā€™s license, possessing license when privileges are revoked, failure to surrender revoked operatorā€™s license, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, arrested and booked on June 28.Ā 
  • James Salyers, 29, of Sandy Hook, self-surrender, booked June 28.Ā 

All of the charges listed are arrest charges only, and do not indicate an indictment or a conviction for the charges in question. All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
