Billie E. James, age 97, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at her residence.
She was born February 23, 1926, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Will and Retta Roar James.
Billie enjoyed fishing, working seek and find puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Esther Rhae “Tootsie” Blevins; one son in law, Daniel Caudill; brother and sisters in law, Chester James, Bob and Oma James, Frank and Nora James; sister and brother in law, Esther and Ingram Warren.
Billie is survived by one daughter, Retta Caudill of Grahn, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Lee Ann (Daniel) Carter of Grahn, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda) Roe of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Daniel Lee Carter II of Grahn, Kentucky; two great-great grandchildren, Clementine Roe and Aiden Bowen both of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly miss her greatly.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Phillip Roe officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Saturday, October 8, 2023, and after 10 a.m. until the service hour on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
