Donna Hignite Owens, 82 of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Thursday afternoon December 21, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY surrounded by her family. She was born July 6, 1941, in Olive Hill, KY, a daughter of the late Charles and Laura Rice Blankenship.
In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Blankenship, Vernon Blankenship, Kenneth Blankenship, and Ted Blankenship.
Donna retired from Owens Insurance Agency in Olive Hill, KY where she served as secretary for many years. She was an Avid U.K. Basketball Fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and keeping everything in line.
She is survived by her Loving Husband of 34 years Donny R. Owens whom she married November 23, 1989; six children Teresa Fuoss and her Husband Stephen of Morehead, KY, Gregory Hignite and his wife Sharon of Morehead, KY, Anita Roe and her Husband Dennis of Olive Hill, KY, Donny Owens Jr and his companion Lisa Conley of Olive Hill, KY, Bryon Owens and his wife Linda of Olive Hill, KY and Curtis Owens and his wife Kristol of Morehead, KY; 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. In addition to these she leaves a host of relatives and friends that will cherish her memory.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday December 27, 2023, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home in Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Gary Sparks and Chris Hignite officiating. A burial will follow in the Jr. OUAM Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.
Visitation will be 5:00PM – 8:00PM Tuesday December 26, 2023, and 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Hignite, Kevin Hignite, Kylan Hignite, Brent Ison, Matthew Roe, Nicholas Roe, and Kyle Owens
In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital, Cincinnati Childrens’ Hospital, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a Childrens charity of your choice.
