Donna Sue Griffey Bailey, age 86, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at UK-St Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Wednesday, June 12, 1940, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Haskel and Sadie Ramey Griffey.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Wayne Bailey; four brothers, Lou Arlen Griffey, William Griffey, Eddie Griffey, Charles Griffey; six sisters, Beatrice Ingles, Eulane Harris, Nina Mae Wilson, Shelby Jean Griffey, Christine James and Louise Carter.
Donna attended Garvin Ridge Weslyn Church and retired from Ashland Sales. She enjoyed quilting, making crafts, working in her flowers, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Myron Bailey of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Wanda (John) Porter of Ashland, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Alex Porter, Emily Porter (Tyler) Benson; one great-grandson, Grayson Cole Benson; two sisters, Jewell Hicks, Evaline Whitman, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill,
Kentucky, with Brother JC Bond officiating. Burial will follow in VanHoose Cemetery in Garvin Ridge, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2026, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Myron Bailey, John Porter, Alex Porter, Tyler Benson, Sam Garvin and Chris Frye will serve as pallbearers.
