Dorse Ray “Dorsey” Middleton
Dorse Ray “Dorsey” Middleton, age 75, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday morning, December 20, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Thursday, July 14, 1949, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold Ray and Gaythel Reynolds Middleton and stepfather Erskine Walker.
Dorsey was of the Church of God faith and a farmer, as well as a retired painter. He enjoyed watching his cattle and pigs, going to the market and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Alix, whom they had raised as their own.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Louise Holbrook Middleton; one son, Scottie Ray Middleton; one daughter-in-law, Alecia Middleton and one sister, Janie Hanshaw.
Dorsey is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Revitta and Donald Beller of Grayson, Kentucky; one son and two daughters-in-law, Jonah and Eunice May Middleton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Cammy Middleton of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren, Kasha (T.J.) Hinkle, Tiffani (Daniel) Fraley, Donald “Bub” (Leah) Beller, Devon Middleton, Joshua (Mackenzie) Middleton, Paloma Gollihue and Alixandrea Middleton; 6 great-grandchildren, Zoey Fraley, Conner Beller, Integra Hinkle, Kinzie Fraley, Jurnee Beller and Leon Fraley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dallas and Lisa Middleton, Carlos and Vera Middleton all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Larry Knipp of Winchester, Kentucky, Della and Jeff Layne of Worthington, Kentucky. He leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Bobby Day and Brother Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Middleton Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Donald Ray “Bub” Beller, Devon Middleton, Joshua Middleton, Daniel Fraley, T.J. Hinkle, Ben Markwell, Andy Savage and J.T. Stevens will serve as pallbearers.
Dallas Middleton, Carlos Middleton, Larry Knipp, Jeff Layne, Gary Hanshaw, Chris Barker and Aaron Howard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
