Mrs. Evelyn Fannin Fultz James, age 89, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Evelyn was born on October 15, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Carlos and Tina Humphries Fannin.
She was a devoted Christian for 58 years and was a pastor’s wife for 29 of those years. In her earlier years, Evelyn enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, gardening, and mowing her yard. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and watching game shows on her television.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Charles Fultz, as well as her late husband, Phillis James; two brothers, Eugene Fannin and Dale (Karen) Fannin; one sister, Geneva (Carsol) McGlone; one daughter, Carol Ann Cannady and one son-in-law, Jeffrey Buckler.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Sue Buckler; two grandsons Adam (Stacey) Buckler and Tony (Michelle) Buckler; four granddaughters, Lea (Lloyd) Arrowood, Adriann (Adam) Cooper, Beth Hires, and Becky Oliver; fourteen great grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew Buckler, Hannah Holderbaum, Milea and Canaan Arrowood, Kenton Cooper, Madison Buckler, Taylor Price, Reese Boggs, Seth and Sawyer Redding, Christian and Hailie Miles, and Dalton Driggers; five great, great grandchildren, Bennett, Lexie, Charlotte, Magnolia, and Henry. She also leaves behind one brother, Carl (Rosemary) Fannin, three step sons, PR James, Tim James, and Kevin James, one step daughter, Karen Cain, as well as many other family members and friends that will miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Adam Buckler and Brother Adam Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Jacob Buckler, Andrew Buckler, Canaan Arrowood, Kenton Cooper, Kyler Holderbaum, Landon Price and Cody Clayborn will serve as pallbearers.
Tony Buckler, Richard McGlone, Sawyer Redding and Lloyd Arrowood will serve as honorary pallbearers.
