Bainton Mitchell Newland, age 90, of Grayson, KY entered into Heaven on February 28, 2024.
Bainton was a devoted wife, loving mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed collaging, westerns, time with family, attending Pactolus United Methodist Church and serving the Lord. Her love for Jesus was evident to all who knew her. She will forever be missed, but continues to live on in the hearts of her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Paul Newland, her parents, Sam and Bessie Kouns, two grandchildren , Roy Newland, Jr. and Patrick Newland, three sisters, Wilma Kouns, Mary Lou Kouns and Ruth Lyons, three brothers, Roy Kouns, Burtis Kouns and Sammy Kouns, father and mother in law, Pat and Stella Newland, and several brother and sister in laws, May Hall, Gladys Johnson, Missouri “Zeke” Blair, Jessie Greer, Belle Steele, John “Bud” Newland and Glen Newland.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Newland of Grayson, KY and Russell (Debbie) Newland of Greenup, KY, and one daughter, Kathy (Johnny) Wells of Grayson, KY. She has one sister, Vada Marie Hall of MI, and two Sister in laws Lois Newland of Grayson, KY and Jean Dickerson. She has five grandchildren that will miss her dearly, Genoria (Bobby) Wagoner, Kristy Clendenin, James “JE” (Penny) Newland, Heather (Chad) Rice, and Carrie (Justin) Oney-Roberts, twenty great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, four special family members, Hazel Boggs, Colleen Jenkins, Mark Clendenin, Amy Newland and Chris Oney, and a host of other friends and family that will deeply miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky with Brother Tom Riffe officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Claxon Cemetery in Grayson, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, until the service hour at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
