Mr. James Douglas “J.D.” McGlone, age 69, of Carter City, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at his residence.
He was born July 23, 1951, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Luther and Hazel Kiser McGlone.
J.D. was an active member of the Carter City Volunteer Fire Department, unit #659, as a safety officer for 28 years. He attended the Carter City Christian Holiness Church and he was an avid U.K. Basketball fan.
He is survived by one son, Jonathan McGlone of Alexandria, Kentucky, and one brother, Phillip Lee McGlone of Cynthiana, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Bill Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in the AB Kiser Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
