James Louard Holloway, age 82, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at Wyngate Senior Living Community.
He was born Sunday, December 3, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late James Roy and Avonell Hicks Holloway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Ann Nolen; one nephew, Nathan Greenhill and his life long companion, Marguerite Krick.
In earlier years, he enjoyed going to Lake Michigan, near his home, to fish and enjoy the sun. James recently accepted the Lord. He enjoyed meeting his friends at McDonald’s and keeping in touch with family an friends in Olive Hill. His friends and neighbors in Chicago have stayed in touch with him by calling and sending cards.
James is survived by two sisters, Joyce Holloway, Brenda Shumate both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Gordon Nolen of Lewis County, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends in Olive Hill and Chicago, who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Kevin Nolen and Brother Marcus McCleese officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.Th
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024, and after 9 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
