JoAnn “Jo” Stumbo of Grayson, Kentucky went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 23rd, 2021. She was 80 years young. Jo was born to Vernor and Bessie Butler (Hay) on April 18th 1941, in Cherokee, Kentucky. JoAnn graduated from Blaine High School.
In 1957, she met and married Tim Stumbo and resided in Columbus, Ohio for many years before moving back to Kentucky. Together they built a beautiful life with their two sons, Greg and Timmy and were foster parents to two wonderful ladies of Grayson, Kentucky.
JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Of all the many titles she carried her most treasured title was A CHILD OF GOD.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernor Butler, stepmother (Opal), mother Bessie Hay, stepfather (Wallace), brother Ralph Butler, sisters Lola Jean Caudill, Dona Byerly and her loving son, Greg Stumbo.
Those who carry on and cherish her memory are her husband, Tim Stumbo and son Timmy Stumbo (Marrialana) of Grayson, Kentucky, daughter in law, Kim Stumbo of Fruitland Park, Florida. Five grandchildren, Emily Stumbo DeVries (Caleb), Jade Stumbo (Garion Robinson) and Kelsey Stumbo all of Tampa Florida. Kylor Stumbo (Cassidy) of Clermont, Florida and Christiaan Prince of Grayson, Kentucky. Three great grandchildren: Aaliyah, Gabriella Jo and Aubrey Elise. One sister, Phyllis Coleen May (Jimmy) of Fort Gay, WV. Sister in law, Jean Butler, nieces, Sandy Butler, Diana Peterson, Angela Dooley, Beth Ann May and Mel May, nephews, Rick May, Jim May, Chris Collier, Mark Pulse and a host of extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 12:00 noon.
Visitation will be from at 11 a.m. to the service hour.
