Larry Joe Garvin, age 74 of Argillite, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Tom and Hazel Bond Garvin, Larry was a member of Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church, and a light to everyone he met. A retiree from CSX in Russell, KY, Larry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and lover of everything outdoors, especially spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by three brothers, Buddy Lee Garvin, Harold Lloyd “Bob” Garvin, and Jackie Eugene Garvin.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Roxanna Hilton Garvin; one daughter, Jolinda Case of Barboursville, West Virginia; one son Justin (Hannah) Angel of Ashland, Kentucky; two sisters, Judy (O’Neal) Nolen of Grayson, Kentucky, Thomasina “Tina” (LeRoy) Rayburn of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Michael Joeseph (Mindy) Conley of Ashland, Kentucky, Marcus (Sahara) Artrip of Russell, Kentucky; and four great grandchildren, Brayden Conley, Christian Conley, Bella Conley, and Ty Conley. He also leaves behind many family, friends, and church family who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Ronnie Blevins and Brother Winston Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast with Larry’s close family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8.pm. Sunday, June 30, 2024 and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
