Lela “Doris” Oppenheimer Fielding

1922-2021

Mrs. Lela “Doris” Oppenheimer Fielding, age 98, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021, at Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky.

She was born September 2, 1922, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Cecil and Ollie Mae Bailey Oppenheimer.

Doris was a member of the Olive Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cutting hair till up into her 80’s, shopping, singing, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James Roger Fielding; one son, Owen Maurice Fielding; four brothers, Doval Oppenheimer, Paul Oppenheimer, Cecil Oppenheimer, and Charles “Mose” Oppenheimer; and five sisters, Clarice Jarvis, Sara Gore, Maxine Friedman, Patricia Ann Solomon and Marjorie Holbrook.

Doris is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Fielding of Grayson, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ryker Miller and Regan Miller Kinney (Cowan), all of Grayson, Kentucky; and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother John Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
