Mennie Pearl Steele Rogers, 83, of Huff Run went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, September 1, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mennie was born March 23, 1941 in Carter County, KY a daughter of the late, William Earl Sr. and Phoebe Seagraves Steele. In addition to her parents Mennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Harold “H.V.” Rogers; a son, Ronnie Virgle Rogers; seven sisters, Lucille Rice, Mary Ruth Marcum, Bonnie Floyd, Carolyn Seagraves, Judy Perkins, Faye Scott and Bertha Ann Wells; four brothers, William Earl Steele, Jr., Paul Garland Steele, Otis Steele and Raymond Steele.
Mennie was a member of Huff Run Church for over 60 years. Mennie was a homemaker, enjoyed working in her flowers and loved playing with her grandchildren.
Mennie is survived by two daughters, Janet (David) Wade and Mennie “Ro” (Tony) Daniels; three sons, Anthony “Boo” (Rhonda) Rogers, Doug (Tammy) Rogers, and Stephen (Lyn) Rogers all of Grayson; 34 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Cora Messer of Grayson; a brother, Jimmy Steele of Columbus, OH; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn her passing.
Combined funeral services for Mennie and her son, Ronnie, will be 1 pm Saturday September 7, 2024 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Delmar Rogers and Bro. Dennis Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Rogers-Messer Cemetery on Huff Run. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday and after 9am Saturday until the service hour.
