William Ronald “Ron” Horsley

1935-2020

William Ronald “Ron” Horsley gained his angel wings on July 27, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born November 15, 1935 in Sciotoville, Ohio to the late Harry Donald and Dorothy A. Perry Horsley. 

Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Ronda Valerie Horsley Johnson; the mother of his children, Alfreda Brown; one brother, Bernard Horsley; son-in-law, Winston Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Karen Kay Horsley. 

Ron retired from General Motors in Columbus after almost 30 years as a machinist. He also owned and operated some rental houses and The West Forty Flea Market in London, Ohio until poor health required him to close the flea market. He still was operating the rentals at the time of his death. He was a Christian and spoke at several Churches of Christ for several years. He also wrote and published a book on Revelation, working on it for twenty years. 

He leaves to survive him his wife, Wanda Easterling Bowe Horsley, whom he married in 2008 and two sons, Paul Nathan (Cheryl) Horsley of Plainfield, Illinois and William Timothy Horsley of Cincinnati, Ohio. Five grandchildren, Nathaniel (Jessica) Johnson, Joshua and Jeremiah Horsley and Ariel and Quentin Norwood. Four step children, John (Julie) Bowe, Leigh Ann (John) Bowe-Geddes, Lauri (Brett) Mann and Randy (Stephanie) Bowe. Nine step grand children, Barbara (Miles) Kilgore, Christopher (Carmen) Bowe, Jessica Bowe, Autumn (Joey) Pagano, Sadie Anne Bowe Brimeyer, Kirsten Stensen, Lainey (Chris) Wilson, Ian Z Bowe and Justice Joseph. He also had seven great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Josie, Braylen, Laylee, London, Georgi, Silas and Elijah. One brother, Mark Brian (Debbie) Horsley of Dickson, Tennessee. Three sisters, Kathleen (Bob) Graham of Knoxville, Tennessee, Carmen (Tom) Chandler of Milton, Kentucky, and Phyllis Gail Horsley of Staten Island, New York. He also leaves many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. 

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Monday, August 10, 2020, the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother John M. Brown officiating. 

Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
