Amelia “Millie” Henderson is a two-sport athlete at West Carter High School, but basketball will be the sport she focuses on at the collegiate level.

Henderson will continue her academic and athletic career at Kentucky Christian University after signing her letter of intent this week.

Henderson shared that she was very excited to make it official.

“I love the KCU program and Lisa,” said Henderson.

As a power forward, Henderson has been an integral part of the Lady Comets’ success during her four years of varsity basketball.

Henderson is a versatile player, and her strong play has enabled her to perform extremely well this season, averaging 16.3 points and five rebounds.

West Carter coach Faith Conn is excited for Henderson to attend her alma matter to continue her basketball career.

“Millie has worked so hard and has earned this opportunity,” said Conn of Henderson. “She is the kind of kid that you always want on your team. In addition to playing hard, she does all the little things and is the best teammate on the court.”

Henderson shared that seeing her former teammates continue their basketball careers at KCU inspired her to do the same.

“Several of my teammates have gone there and seeing how much they’ve grown makes me want to go there and continue to grow and work harder in basketball,” she said.

She plans to major in biology at KCU.
