A 44-0 win completed the West Carter Rockets JFL’s team undefeated season. These 4th and 5th graders went 10-0 this season which is something they’ve been working towards since last season.
Each game they brought intensity and teamwork to overcome teams in and out of conference. The players would go into every game and focus just on that game; taking it one at a time. Assistant Coach Daniel Barker said that being undefeated wasn’t the goal, the main goal was to compete and win the league title.
Their defense shone bright, only giving up more than 1 score in 1 game this season. Every week a new player would step up and make a difference showcasing their hard work and their importance of teamwork. These players support each other and would lift each other up becoming like a family head coach Dave Willoughby said.
“This team has focused all season long on bettering themselves as a team and creating bonds that grow beyond the football field.”
The team was also coached by Matt Moore, Joe Henderson, Rick Kissinger, and Stephen Rache.
