The Lady Raiders hit a total of six home runs last season while averaging more than eight runs a game.

That powerful offense helped East Carter claim a 26-7 record en route to a 62nd District Tournament Championship for the 2022 season.

On Thursday, the Lady Raiders opened a new season.

And they once again showcased their hitting ability.

East Carter pounded out a 5-3 seven-inning victory over Mason County.

The Lady Raiders had ten hits in the game.

Laken Knipp was 3-for-3 with one RBI and scored a run. Emily Biddle was 2-for-3 with an RBI, one stolen base and scored once.

Stephany Tussey went the distance in the circle for East Carter, allowing five hits, three runs (two earned), with two walks.

Lady Comets drop opener

The Lady Comets opened the 2023 season Wednesday night with a tough assignment, facing a well-rounded Russell team.

Audrey Patel pitched a no hitter as the Red Devils scored a 10-0 five-inning win over the Lady Comets.

Alyssa Willis pitched all five innings for West Carter, allowing twelve hits while striking out three.

West Carter is set to return to action Friday, March 24 as they host the Lady Raiders.
