Final Friday in Grayson

Hello, arts lovers! It’s BAAAACK! One of the favorite events of the year at the Grayson Gallery. Join us on Friday evening for a fantastic art show and wear your best Halloween costume to compete for prizes!

Artists seem to love creating work on this theme and the exhibit has grown each year, with an average of over 30 artists and more than 50 pieces of art on display, live music and our costume contest with prizes. For this installment of the monthly F!nal Fr!days Art Walk set for (as always) the last Friday of the month, an even bigger and better event is planned as part of Explore Grayson’s Octoberfest weekend.

Regional crowd-favorite band, “From the Hills”, will be back on the Grayson Gallery & Art Center (GGAC) Stage for the evening’s entertainment. While these events are always free to the public, tips for the band and donations at the door are very much appreciated. Catering by Laura will provide refreshments and Halloween candy will be offered up as well.

In addition, during the Awards & Announcements portion of the evening at approximately 7:45 pm, four $50.00 (or equivalent purchase prize) art awards will be given and include blue ribbons for the winners. Prizes for People’s Choice (by popular vote), the GGAC Board Choice, the Pen Lady Award, and Brandon Click Memorial will be selected.

For the Costume Contest, three prizes will be handed out for “Most Original” (Grayson Gallery Goodie Bag), “Scariest” (a special prize bag donated by co-sponsors Smith Dungeon), and a “Crowd Favorite” (another swag-bag, sponsored by Grayson Main Street) as well. The Grayson Gallery is a proud Arts & Entertainment venue for the Grayson Main Street District. One of the largest October shows to date, over 30 artists and up to 75 pieces will be on display and most will be priced to sell.

Coming up at the GGAC will be an open-show event set for November 29 featuring the “Chuck Robertson Project” taking the GGAC Stage, and will be a fundraiser for their upcoming trip to Memphis, TN to compete in the International Blues Society’s annual IBC Blues Competition. December will bring some faith and gospel programs to the gallery as part of Grayson’s Hometown Holidays event on Saturday, December 7th.
