Grayson Gallery & Art Center
Artists everywhere are invited to submit original work – up to three pieces each – for an open show this month at the Grayson Gallery & Art Center, Inc. All mediums and all subjects are welcome; even older works not previously shown here. It’s our Lots of Fun in the Summertime event with an opening reception on August 30, featuring entertainment by From the Hills as well as refreshments and fellowship. Please, feel free to share this with other artists and organizations!
To participate complete the form available in-house when dropping off work, or online from the Gallery. All pieces must be tagged with the artist’s name, title of the piece, medium, and price (or NFS of not for sale) for identifying your pieces. All submissions must be ready to hang or display; however, “sawtooth” hangers are available if needed. You can even grab some “to go”, as we had a box of them donated by the local Grandview store. If you need help with presentation just let us know while visiting here with us!
We’ve scheduled two dates for bringing work, and picking up old work, at the gallery, 301 E Third St in Grayson. The dates are Saturday, August 24 and Monday, August 26, each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There is no entry fee. Sold pieces only will have a 20% commission to the GGAC deducted from sales; payable to the artist within 30 days of purchase processing.
Four awards will be given during the announcements and awards portion of the evening, for People’s Choice, GGAC Board Choice, Brandon Click Memorial and the Pen Lady’s Choice, with each prize carrying a $50 cash prize or equivalent purchase award. All submitting artists will be given a reminder invitation to the event by email or via Facebook.
Coming up in September will be a duo-artist show, while October’s Halloween Show & Sale shindig is in the planning stage; so, start creating some unique horror or fall themed pieces! Watch for more through year-end, too.
