I love reading quotes from great men and women of God that have been tried and tested in the trials and challenges of life. Here are a few favorites and some new ones.
Charles Stanley: “The time you spend alone with God will transform your character and increase devotion.” “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.” “God wants us to seek Him more than anything else, even more that we seek answers to prayer.” “Don’t miss the blessing of the deeply personal relationship God offers.”
Rolland Baker: “When you are in love with God obedience is no longer a struggle.” “The primary goal of life isn’t to be a missionary, a pastor, or a professional, but to find God as deeply as possible.” “The Christian life is a cup of joy and suffering.” “We need God’s miraculous power and presence every day for every detail.”
Conrad Mbewe: “If your Christianity does not cost you, throw it away. It is a lie!” “Jesus doesn’t just save us from hell; he saves us from the sin that sends us to hell.” “To trust in our works for salvation is the back door to hell.” “It is in the place of secret prayer that the truths of God become clothed in the fiber of his being.” “We prayerfully read scripture and let it saturate our minds and our hearts until it guides the way in which we pray.” “God’s children, when they are spiritually healthy, spend most of the time at the foot of the cross.”
Gbile Akanni: “What you hide in secret will one day fight you in public.” “Destiny is lost not on the battlefield but in the bedroom of compromise.” “Public sin is not as powerful as secret sin.” “Sin wants you to be alone so that it can isolate you for slaughter.” “Sin actually does not want anybody to know until it has finished you.” “Sin will empty you of grace and strip you of glory.” “Sin is a very small word, but it has cut men short.”
Reinhard Bonnke: “Prayer draws the map for power.” “Prayer is the flame that fuels the evangelist’s fire.” “Without prayer; crusades would be just noise.” “The Holy Spirit never shows up late when prayer is on time.” “Miracles happen when we saturate our soul in prayer.” “The less Holy Spirit we have, the more cake and coffee we need to keep the church going.”
Hudson Taylor: “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” “There are three stages in every great work of God; first it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done.” “Do not have your concert first and tune your instrument afterward. Begin your day with God.”
Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Wisdom starts with the respectful fear of the Lord. Understanding is demonstrated by keeping God’s commandments. Meditating on scripture provides deeper insight. True wisdom is not just knowledge but applying it to daily life. God bless you!
Amen! So be it!
