Confusion Solution
We all want our homes to look like a million dollars; and so, we set out to buy that special piece of furniture or signature piece that will accomplish that goal. First, we need to ask ourselves if we have enough room for something new. Then, if we need it to be capable of providing storage or some other function rather than simply complementing our decor.
For instance, when looking for items like entertainment centers you may want to consider solving the issues of both function and beauty. Think about if it could double as storage space. Think about how many items that are now on display might be stored as opposed to causing them to distract from your decor. Search for furnishings that have drawers or doors. Think about reducing clutter while still complimenting your home’s style.
Not everything that looks pretty is functional and everything that is functional is not pretty, so keep both things in mind when you are looking to furnish your home. Make sure they hold the things you don’t want on display. Make sure they have easy access to items when you need them and see if they will allow for expansion when you want to add more stuff.
Just buying something pretty doesn’t necessarily serve a function, and just like when we are faced with life’s decisions, we must consider if our decisions make sense while making us feel great.
It’s as simple as that!
