Confusion Solution
Here’s something to think about! Organize your medicine cabinet. These small areas contain items that are essential to maintaining our health, but sometimes they get hidden behind other items making it difficult to see what you actually have.
If your medicine cabinet is full, take a look at what you really need to store there. Here are some hints to help you review what you keep inside and how to add more space.
First, remove all the shelves and give the cabinet a good cleaning.
Identify what you have and separate those items by their use and how often you use them.
Check the expiration dates to be sure everything is still usable and if not dispose of properly. Unused medicines can be taken to the local police department for disposal.
Look for alternative locations for vitamins and pills that you take daily. I store mine in a decorative box along with my daily pill container. Not only is it convenient, it’s a great reminder for me to take them instead of putting them in my medicine cabinet out of sight and with too many other things.
Keep a first aid kit under your bathroom sink or in a drawer for emergencies. That way if you need to dress a wound you have water and soap at your disposal. I keep a separate tube of healing ointment in my cabinet because I would use that more often for small scrapes or insect bites.
I also store cold medicine, eye drops, pain relief pills, dental care items, a thermometer, face cleanser, and styling gel in my medicine cabinet because these are things I use more often.
Once you have decided what to return to the cabinet, measure the tallest items and reset your shelves to the right height for storing. Keep like items together and the ones you use more often on the lower shelves.
You will find it eye-opening to discover what all you have in that space, and by looking for alternative locations for storage your medicine cabinet will be organized and clutter free. Check in every so often to be sure your arrangement proves workable, and if not simply move a few things around.
It’s as simple as that!
