Sorry for the delay between articles, I have been really busy doing more planning. We have had our local author, Hannah Carter, in for a signing event. She is great! Please come to the library and check out her book. We have it for loan.
We also have a new offering for services. We have been presented with a 27” laminator by the Friends of the Library. We will be offering to the public, you great people of our community, the services of laminating items for you. Come in and find out what we can do for you. Bring in your favorite article from your favorite newspaper, and we will be glad to laminate it. Happy laminating!
Thank you Friends of the Library, you do so much for us. We do not know what we would do without you. We are asking everyone to consider becoming a member of the Friends of the Library group. We have had several people join already this year during our latest drive for membership. It is easy just fill out a card and send in your dues. You can come to any of the meetings to join; or show up at the library, in Olive Hill or Grayson, and find a card to become a member. The members help the library to obtain items that normally we have no money for. You are needed! You are appreciated!
We have added to our programming as well.
We now have a home school group meeting in the Grayson library. Also, we have a new book club started at the Olive Hill branch. They will be meeting every fourth Wednesday of the month.
Bruce’s Magazine Club is looking for new members to join them at the Grayson branch of the library too. Consider joining to discuss magazines, make new friends, or meet some old friends. Whatever your reason, we encourage you to come out and join a group that is having some fun.
Our “Snow Ball” was another recent hit with the kids of our community. Even though the weather was horrible, we had 15 in attendance. All had fun dancing, listening to the waltzes and other music, and sharing food. We all had a great time, so be sure to join us for the next special.
We will be having a Valentine’s Day Party at the Olive Hill branch for February. It will be on Valentine’s Day, February 14, at 5p.m. Come join the fun. We will be decorating boxes and exchanging valentine cards. Bring your box decorated, or decorate it here, we will have extra boxes to decorate if you forget. Bring cards or use ours. Let’s have fun!
Come in to the library, Olive Hill or Grayson, and check out the new programming. We have a lot going on. We are looking for more ideas, and you awesome people of our community can offer us more ideas.
