All through traffic must detour, 8 am – 3 pm
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Kentucky Department of Highways crews will temporarily close part of KY 1661 near Leon in Carter County on Friday for drainage repairs.
Beginning about 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, crews will close KY 1661 at the 1.5 mile marker just south of the Little Sandy River bridge to cut through the roadway and replace a drainage pipe underneath. The road is expected to reopen by 3 p.m. During construction, all through traffic on KY 1661 should detour using KY 7.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
