Barbara Lee Hamilton, of Grayson, Kentucky, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 1st at the age of 88. Born on October 26,1937, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Opal Forrest.
A devoted Christian, she lived each day with humility, kindness, and grace, serving as an example to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Barbara found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved sitting on her porch enjoying God’s beautiful creation. She faithfully attended church, treasured time spent with family and created a home where everyone felt welcome. Her gentle wisdom, listening ear, and selfless love made her the heart of her family.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years, Luke Hamilton. Barbara married the love of her life and childhood sweetheart July 5, 1958. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, faithfulness, and devotion. For over seven decades together, Barbara adored Luke with all her heart, and together they built a family rooted in love, respect, and Christian values.
Barbara was blessed with two devoted daughters, Kim (Joe) Riffe and Marsha (Jeff) McDavid. Barbara’s girls were the light of her life. She shared a deep bond with each of them and treasured them beyond measure.
She found great joy in her grandchildren, Amanda (Travis) McCall, Ryan (Crystal) McDavid, Jenna (Alex) Schack, Cara Allen, and her great-grandchildren, Macey Jo McCall, Jake and Lindsey Allen, and sisters Norah and Olive McDavid, two special caregivers, Tammy Leadingham and Kayla Rogers.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Sharon Roberts, and her brother, Frankie Forrest.
Though her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her life reminds us that true greatness is found in a humble heart, steadfast faith, and a love that never fails.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the six men who have graciously accepted the honor of serving as pallbearers: Ryan McDavid, Travis McCall, Jason Roberts, Justin Roberts, Kerrick Barber, and Kaden Barber.
