Mrs. Connie Lee Hardin Messer, age 70, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away, Saturday evening, March 13, 2021, at St. Claire Healthcare in Morehead, Kentucky.
She was born September 4, 1950, in Blackford County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Walter Norton and Rosie Hardin Anderson.
Connie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed helping others, being with her grandchildren, going to church, having a good time and living her life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Major Messer; one daughter, Judith Messer; one grandson, Jeremy Burton; and one sister, Cathy Jimenez.
Connie is survived by one son, Joseph Major Wright (Kayla) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three daughters, Michelle Messer Mitchell (Jeffery) of Wallingford, Kentucky, Karen Hudson (Jonathan) and Brenda Burton (Ronnie) all of Morehead, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Sheila Malloy, Sandy Barros (Manuel), and Mary Branco (George) all of California. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Globe Funeral Chapel, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Shawn Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Shane Harris, Josh Hunt, Jamie Mitchell, James Burton, Jimmie Burton and Josh Mitchell will serve as pallbearers. Joe Mitchell, Rob Sanders, and Greg Henderson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
