Dallas King, age 69, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed in peace on August 2, 2021. Dallas was born June 4, 1952 to Thurston and Virginia (Wilson) King Salyer. Dallas and wife Alice, raised 8 children together, but he served as a father figure to so many around him. Always teaching and always learning.
Dallas was an accomplished farmer and a fearless logger. He was well-known in the community for how hard he worked, but more than that he was respected for his unwavering honesty. He began working in the log woods with his father at the age of eight, and began his own logging career at just 13 years old. He never met a stranger, always had time for everyone and said nothing made him happier than the sound of his grandchildren playing.
Mr. King is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice King (Debord); daughters, Diana Gregory (Matt), Billie Hanshaw (Junior), Virginia King Horn (Paul), Alice King Elliott (Jody), Crystal King (William) and Julia Dailey (Charlie); sons, Donald King (Kaleigh) and Kyle King (Sarah); 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Dallas was preceded in death by his mother, father and one sister, Arlene King. He is survived by 10 siblings, Eight sisters, Selma King Logan, Carolyn Robinson (Jeffrey), Elaine Lemaster (Dennis), Patricia Dehart (James Manning), Lesa Kimmet (Martin), Joyce Flynn (Benny), Sandra King and Brenda Parker (Ronnie) and two brothers Gary King, Arlin King (Denise).
There will be a celebration of life in memory of Dallas at his farm at a later date due to COVID precautions.
