Mrs. Emily “Emma” Carroll Barker, age 86, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at her home.
She was born November 19, 1935 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Tom and Ruth (Holbrook) Carroll.
Sister Emmy was a Christian and a member of the Clifty United Baptist Church for over fifty-two years. She loved cooking for the church, and through the years had many of her church family and others into her home. She also enjoyed quilting, working puzzles, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty nine years, Elder Eury Barker, her daughter Connie Henderson, two great grandchildren; Noel Eldridge and Benjamin Burns, five brothers; Arnold Carroll, Norm Carroll, Willard Carroll, Emil Carroll and Aurges Carroll, three sisters; Cloma Roe, Grace Knipp, Thomesine Edington, and one step-sister, Bert Blevins.
Sister Emmy is survived by three sons; Terry (Patty) Barker of Kinston, North Carolina, David (Jan) Barker of Olive Hill, Kentucky, James Barker of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Patricia (Darrell) Eldridge of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one step-brother; Ken Carroll of Mansfield, Ohio; two step-sisters; Susie Blevins of Mansfield, Ohio, Evelynn Clark of Grayson, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at Clifty United Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Elder Robert Mollette, Jr., Elder Bo Mayo, Elder Lewis Baier, Elder Rob Baier officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge, in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US HWY 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky and Monday, May 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the service hour at Clifty United Baptist Church.
Sister Emmy’s family will serve as pallbearers.
