Mrs. Betty Jo McCoy Dixon, age 95, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at her residence.
She was born Friday, September 17, 1926, in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Willie E. McCoy and Florence Hollingsworth McCoy.
Betty was a member of the Oakland Christian Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dixon; one infant child, Ronnie Lane Gee; one grandson, Derrick Davis; three brothers, Charles McCoy, Bob McCoy and Burl McCoy; two sisters, Lillian Offill and Blanche Poetker.
Betty is survived by one son, Charles “C.E.” (Connie) Gee of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one step-son, Doug (Alice) Dixon of Lexington, Kentucky; one step-daughter, Rochelle Davis of Lexington, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Stephanie, J.D., Susanne, Shawnda, Kelly and Jason; ten great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Dearl (Alberta) McCoy of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Billi Jean Holland of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US-60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, 41164 with Brother Raymond Steagall officiating, Burial will follow in the McFerren Cemetery on Three Pine Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
J.D. Gee, Wyatt Gee, Jason Dixon, Wayne Adkins, Noah Adkins, Ethan Adkins, Jeff Steagall and Chaz Steagall will serve as pallbearers.
