Harold Keith Walker

1951-2024

Harold Keith Walker, age 73, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday evening, February 29, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Keith was a graduate of Olive Hill High School and Morehead State University. He valued hard work and education; having spent 42 total years in education as a principal for 29 years at Carter County Career and Technical Center, math teacher at both Carter and Greenup County Vocational School and ten years at Morehead State University as KY AHEAD Grant Director. He was owner of Country Estate Fence of Kentucky for more than 25 years, a member of the FIVCO board for 17 years and lifelong farmer. He served as Sunday School superintendent and deacon of First Christian Church of Olive Hill for many years and in recent years was a member of Carter Christian Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a special smile reserved just for them.

Mr. Walker was born February 21, 1951 in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Clatis and Louise Phillips Walker.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Neely King; two sisters, Frances Johnson and Susie Cox and two brothers-in-law, Floyd Jack Ison and Carl Burge.

He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Debra Fannin Walker; son and daughter-in-law Bradley and Megan Walker; daughter and son-in-law Clerrinda and Brad Queen; grandsons Brance and Nolan Walker and granddaughters Caroline and Blaire Queen; one brother and sister-in-law Clatis “Junior” and Sheila Walker; five sisters and brothers-in-law Faye Barber, Helen and Gary Stevens, Glenna Ison, Noreen and Mike Flannery, and Dorothy and Charles Callihan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Janet Burge, Dorothy and Paul Webb, Phyllis and David Tabor, Shirlene and Vernon Messer, Ronnie and Tammy Fannin, Frances and Jimmy Webb. Keith also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 4, 2024, at First Christian Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Terrell Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 5 PM to 8 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2024, at First Christian Church and after 9:30 AM, Monday, March 4, 2024 until the service hour.
